June 03, 2006 - The fuel pump saga continues, installing the Boost-A-Pump and sizing up the exhaust (2)

On Monday, May 29 we stripped the tie-rod end nut.  We weren't able to find the right nut that day, but Dad found the right castle nut in his miscellaneous jar at home.  You never know what you're going to find in there.  It was a stroke of luck that I'd take any day of the week.  Here's a blurry close-up of the tie-rod end.

Now that we had the right nut we could finish up the driver side suspension installation.  Unfortunately the other spring perch didn't arrive before the weekend.  The guys at Maximum Motorsports said they would send a new perch and sleeve.  All I had to do was put the defective ones in the box, attach the included label, and ship it back to them.  However, the Bassani catback did arrive during the week and I was anxious to see how it fit up.

We didn't get too far along with the exhaust before we realized that we were missing a piece.  HP did not include the slip joints referenced in the instructions.

I guess I got off easy though, I've heard much worse from other HP customers.  Basically all we were able to do was lay the exhaust under the car and look at it.  Before we left for the day I wanted to snap a few pictures of the caster/camber plates.  They were installed back in May but I didn't take any pictures of them for some reason.

On the way home we stopped at a parts store and picked up some oil and some slip joints.
